The CyberTown Emergency Shut Down are back online. CyberTown has shut down officially at 3:10 PM on June 30, 2002. CyberTown servers to be brought back up by July 7, 2002. Please bookmark us as your update site. Thanks!

Note to all citizens:
If you have items in your house or club, it would be safest to keep them in your Backpack (BP) until the situation is resolved. Take items out of your clubs before your houses, as if clubs don't come back up, you will lose all your items, but if your house doesn't come back up, you may still have your items.
Though it probably will not be necessary, screenshot your "My Info" Page and your 2D house and save the images. To do this, press Ctrl+Print Scrn buttons, then go to Paint and paste the image and save it.
A chat will be maintained for the duration of the transfer of servers. This chat can be found on AOL IM. The chat room's name is CyberTown and is open now. Everyone can go there to chat with each other, get the updates, etc. If you don't have AOL, download it for free at www.aim.com and see how safe and easy it is to stay in touch!
A Yahoo Group has been formed. It's address is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ctmembers/
Do not sell or buy items!!! You may be wasting your time. If you sell or buy items, you may have to do it all over again as we don't know when the last update is. The safest bet is to keep your money the same and not sell or buy anything.
DO NOT give out any information that you don't know or are uncertain of. Rumors can rise very quickly and possibly hender the speed at which CyberTown is brought back up fully.
LINKS TO HAVE HANDY:
aim:GoChat?RoomName=CyberTown
Must have AOL Instant Messenger opened and logged on for the link to operate.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ctmembers/
This is the CyberTown integrated group to accompany the chat. Updates will be
provided there too.

I'd
recommend backing up everything that you can as it seems that the engineers in Munich were a little too late and when they went to do the database backup they found that the ISP had locked them out. We should know the real situation in a few days but right now it looks like worst case is we have database backups until last March and best case may be April 29th. Hawk |

Hi all, Just so you know, work is being done on getting a 2 week reprieve to the end of June. We should know tomorrow if it is successful. If we are, a more recent backup than April 29th should be possible to be done. The reason that was the most recent was that blaxxun did the backups and they closed at the end of April and so there was no-one to do them. Hawk |

Please be prepared for CT to shut down in the morning, the 20th. The CT servers may go
down tomorrow morning while CT is moved to new servers and may be down for a week or
so.

There are no guarantees that ct will come back up, but I definitely have faith that hawk will
work something out. I don't know about the exp and CCs. I'll just be happy if it comes back up
at all :-)

Cybertown is backed up. If it comes back online, so will everything else.
